Life just has a way of… life-ing, y’know?
But there’s good news
Some of you may remember I was writing a short story for an anthology and sailed past the word count so thoroughly that I had to write a whole different story that fit. And because life did its thing, I have been sitting on this novella like the potato I am ever since.
I’ve had writers’ block, depression, crippling anxiety and so many other things, including losing my 20 year old fur baby in early December last year.
The other day, I had a burst of confidence and put the novella up on Amazon for approval and last night the preorder confirmation came through!!

As always, I pull on my Irish roots for name and character inspiration.
Fiadh is among the last of her kind. She’s everything her name suggests, feisty and wild, but she’s also incredibly stubborn, and sometimes refuses to listen to reason.
Rowan is lost… but protective and steady. He’s got a hidden strength that’s been denied for decades, and even though he’s not reeeeeaaallly the good guy, he has his reasons.
I know this is true because he told me so.
Dragons be like that, it seems.

I skipped ARC submissions on this lil story because for me, it’s an exercise in confidence and visibility rather than ratings. It’s due for release on October 9th, to coincide with an author event that I’m attending in Campbelltown, NSW.
