Today I had a blast chatting with Shawn Amick, a fellow author who has made it his mission to bring the independent author community together by creating an amazing network of support for writers of all genres. Everyday on TikTok Shawn hosts writing sprints that I have to say, helped me to complete my newest draft (which I’ll talk about in a different post). Following those, he interviews primarily authors and narrators, but now and then a cover artist or graphic designer will showcase their work, too.

And today, it was my turn!

The interview went live on TikTok with me being my usual potato self, and lasted about 40 minutes, with Shawn grilling me quite thoroughly on many aspects of my upcoming release. These tough questions were sprinkled with some amazing questions from the audience that had me really thinking about the origins of the universe I have created and why I did it in the first place. We talked about my characters, music, if Shawn could beat Rian in a fight, what my ^spice level is and whether or not I will Sean Bean anyone.

Oh, and everyone got to see my cover art for all three books in this trilogy!

It was a lot of fun, and as potatoey as I am, getting the chance to speak about my work and seeing the comments and questions rolling in gave me quite a buzz that can’t be replicated with caffeine. And you know what? I have science to thank for that. If I hadn’t spent so many years giving assignment presentations or speaking at conferences, I wouldn’t be prepared for what I am doing now. And for that, I am immeasurably grateful.
